Winter Parking Ban

The winter parking ban is in effect from November 1 to May 1 each year. The parking ban applies to all on-street parking on all roads in Newton. If you are ticketed for violating the parking ban the penalty is $20.00.

Town Beach

Parking at the town beach on Wenmark Road is for residents only. Residents must display a current parking sticker which can be obtained at the Newton Town Hall.

Boat Ramp

Parking at the boat ramp on Wilders Grove Road is for residents only. Residents must display a current parking sticker which can be obtained at the Newton Town Hall.

Parking Violations and Penalties

Beyond A Painted Line – $10.00
On A Sidewalk – $10.00

On Crosswalk or within 20 ft. of Crosswalk at Intersection – $15.00
Parked within Intersection – $15.00
Blocking Driveway – $15.00
Loading Zone – $15.00

Winter Parking (Nov. 1 to May 1) – $20.00
On RR Tracks or within 50 ft of RR Crossing – $20.00
Obstructing Safe Movement of Traffic – $20.00
Upon any Bridge – $20.00
Within 20 ft of Fire Station Entrance – $20.00

No Parking Zone/Restricted Parking – $30.00
Fire Lane – $30.00
Within 15 ft. of Fire Hydrant – $30.00
No Parking – $30.00
Handicapped Zone – $30.00

If the fine for the parking violation is not paid within 21 days, the fine amount will double. Parking tickets may be paid by mail or in person at the Newton Police Department. Credit cards are not accepted.
